Common questions
Why is my photo sideways in the first place?
Phones record orientation as metadata rather than rotating pixels; software that ignores the metadata shows the photo sideways. Rotating here bakes the correct orientation into the pixels so it displays right everywhere, forever.
Does rotating lose quality?
90° rotations and flips are lossless operations on the pixels. JPEGs are re-encoded at high quality on download (one generation, visually identical); PNGs stay perfectly lossless.
Can I rotate by a custom angle?
This tool does the four cases that cover 99% of needs: 90° left/right, and horizontal/vertical mirror. Arbitrary-angle rotation (which requires deciding what fills the corners) is a different, rarer job.
