Common questions

Where do the page numbers go?

Bottom center of every page, in discreet gray — the convention for documents headed to print, court, or review. Choose plain numbers (1, 2, 3) or the "1 / 12" style that shows the total.

Will numbers overlap my existing footer?

They're stamped 24 points (about a third of an inch) from the bottom edge, below where most content sits. If your document already has page numbers there, you'd get both — number before adding footers, or accept the doubling.

Why number a PDF at all?

Because "see page 14" only works if pages say 14 — and scans, merged files, and exports often don't. Court filings and formal submissions frequently require it.
